Final Exam Info

Announcements The spring exam schedule is posted on S.A.I.L.

Exams will be held in your recitation classroom. Please note that any student with a recitation section that does not pair up with normal class scheduling (e.g. MW at 5:30, etc) should attend the exam that corresponds with his or her recitation section.

Extra Credit

Announcements Each student in PHIL 3340 has a chance to earn extra credit -- 5 extra points added to final exam scores -- by completing the Core Curriculum Survey. To complete the survey, click on the link "Core Survey" at the bottom of "Quick Links" on the left of this page. To get the extra credit you must next do three things:

1. Print the form at the end of the survey.
2. Clearly write your name on the form.
3. Hand the form to your recitation leader once you have completed your exam.


Your help with this survey is much appreciated.

The Final Test

Announcements Due to the changes in the University schedule, we were forced to change the dates for the test. So, here is the official schedule:
For Wednesday classes starting at 1 p.m: W, December 12, 1:45-4:15;
For Wednesday classes starting at 5:30 p.m: W, December 12, 4:30-7:00;
For Thursday classes: Tuesday, December 11, 4:30-7:00
If you are Stefan Sencerz's or Gilda Ramirez's or Victoria Terrazas-Purinton's student, the test will be offered in CI 113. If you are in Don Berkich's W class, the test will be offered in CI 108. All other tests will take place take place in the discussion sections.

The test will partially overlap with the 2nd test. You may expect that some basic questions about egoism, utilitarianism, consequentialism, and intrinsic value will be repeated. Most of the questions will deal with deontology, rights, and environmental ethics. There will not be any essays on this quizz

Main Outlines:

Ethics of Self-Interest (only the most basic stuff)
The Ethics of Utilitarianism (only the most basic stuff)
Deontology and the Ethics of Respect for Persons
Moral Rights
Environmental Ethics
