A note about the notes: The notes posted are points of discussion from our lectures (projected for one and all to ponder). The purpose of posting them is so that you may concentrate on the lecture and classroom discussion instead of trying to jot everything down. However if you do not attend the main lecture and study the text, these notes will not be very helpful. So, read the text and I’ll see you in class!

Time: for section .002 and all related sections, the exam time is Thursday, May 3, 8:00-10:30 a.m.
For section .003 and all related sections, the exam time is Thursday, May 3, 1:45-4:15
Location: in your recitation room.
Format: You will be given a short case study and you will be asked to provide a detailed utilitarian evaluation of the case. Your answer should demonstrate that you have a good understanding of the kinds of considerations utilitarians take into account when analyzing moral problems.
